On a cardboard support, estimated 4″ x 12″, this painting can be considered unusual in that angels form the shepherd’s staff.  In our lives as Christians, unseen angels are sent at various times by God to protect us or to go out on assignment on our behalf.  This type of assignment can be seen in how the angels are arranged.  Set against a purple background, it also reminds the viewer of the fact that we have been set into a royal family.  As Peter says, “We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, that we should show forth the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
